CSA launches the Augustinian Rosary PDF Print E-mail

The Augustinian Formation Office, under the Augustinian Formation and Religious Affairs (AFRA) and in cooperation with the Campus Ministry and Religious Education Department (RED) spearheaded the launching of  the Corona of Our Lady of Consolation, also dubbed as the Augustinian Rosary. The event was held yesterday October 1, 2013 in CSA Audi gym at 7:30 AM.

Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, school President and VP for AFRA, in his opening remarks during the launching exhorted the value of praying the rosary. This devotional practice can help us get closer to God for it is all about the mysteries in the life of Christ Jesus. He mentioned that the title of Our Mother of Consolation has been one of the principal devotions to Mary within the Augustinian Order at least since the 17th century. However, aside from the traditional five-decade-rosary, there is also another way of praying it in theAugustinian tradition.

PAPSHI 14th Annual National Convention PDF Print E-mail

The Philippine Academy of Physicians in School Health, Inc. conducted its 14th Annual National Convention last may 20-21, 2013 with its theme "Optimum Psychosocial School Services for a Complete School Health Program".

The delegation was participated by Ms. Lelaie Copon, Guidance Counselor and Ms. Bonet Cabaltera, RN, our School Nurse. The convention tackles about the psychological and social services component of the School Health Program and selected medical conditions towards attaining optimal learning and proper social orientation in school setting.

Topics discussed during the convention are the following; The anatomy and the psychosocial impact of dropping out, The existing practices on psychological services, Psychosocial intervention for school children during emergencies and other crisis situations, and Helping children with leukemia, epilepsy, skin asthma and physical deformity/disability in school.

the convention helps to improve the knowledge and skills of school personnel in the recognition of psychosocial problems among school children. it enhances the role of the clinic staff and the guidance conselors in giving complete and comprehensive pyschological services. And also it gives detailed information on how to address properly the pre-existing medical problems and learning disabilities that affects the learning process of the students.
