In recent decades, the pace and extend of change have motivated a number of school trustees, management groups and educational institutions as well as individualsschools to undertake their own initiative in relation to school planning and development.

Colegio San Agustin - Biñan has undergone a proliferation of changes - structural, cultural and curricular since its third year of operation in the academic year 1987 - 1988.

The High School Department directs the attention and energy of the school community in a systematic way to the central task of the school : the provision of a quality education that is appropriate to the abilities and needs of all its students. It focuses on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning through collaborative action. Thus, government recognition was granted to the High School Department on January 4, 1989.

With its avowed thrust of excellence, the High School Department has been taking the initiative in undergoing an accreditation process which has been obtaining positive results as revealed in the survey visits of Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) in 1999, 2000 and 2005. Moreover, it was granted a Level II status for five years by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) as indicated on the certificate given by the PAASCU last May 5, 2006 as a result of the latest resurvey visit last October 6-7, 2005.

To ensure that the High School Department has been rendering quality services, series of planning sessions were conducted in preparation for another strategic planning since the five-year development plan (2003-2008) was about to end. The Planning and Development Office facilitated the workshop on the reformulation of the vision-mission statement after an environmental scanning session of the High School Department in 2006.

Representatives from the different sectors of the High School Department attended this strategic planning. The performance report from 2003 to 2006  was presented to the body to find out the status of the Department. IN 2007, the revised vision-mission statement and objectives were finalized.

Driven with confidence in the new VMO, the academic year 2007-2008 started with curriculum planning led by the new set of middle level administrators for the high school. Part of the planning was to scrutinize the recommendations during the resurvey visit specifically, on the improvement of instruction and other  services that would benefit the students. The curricular offerings have been regularly reviewed and revised , faculty updating was intensified, instruction was thoroughly monitored and clinically supervised, and existing facilities were updated.

Coinciding with the 25th year celebration of Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, serveral departmental programs have been launched to maximize the learning potentials of the students.
