Tree Replanting Activity (Batch 2)

The second batch of the Tree Replanting activity was held last September 12, 2014. Sixty selected students, parents, and personnel from the Pre-School, Grade School, and International Students Center departments planted saplings in Matang Tubig Spring, Cabuyao, Laguna from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning. The activity was in partnership with Laguna Waters, a water service provider.

 
Personnel Recollection (Junior High School, Senior High School)

September 6 , 2014 becomes a moment of reflection for the Junior High School and Senior High School Faculty members as it conducted its Personnel Recollection. Held at the College Auditorium from 7:30 AM until 12:00 noon, JHS Regent Rev. Fr. Dante O. Juloc, OSA served as the recollection facilitator. Fr. Juloc showed the importance of conducting recollections and discussed the beautiful and devout life of Saint Nicholas. Part of the recollection was the group sharing of personnel’s insights on their weaknesses and what they aspire to change within themselves. Afterwards, a Eucharistic celebration closed the morning’s activity with everyone feeling renewed both in mind and in heart.

 
Agustinolympics

The spirit of Unitas among CSA Personnel was evidently seen in the recently concluded fourth Agustinolympics held last August 30, 2014.  Four competing teams such as Red PATRICIUS, Gold PERPETUA, Green MONICA, and Blue NAVIGIUS rose up to the challenge of uniting the community as one. Each personnel participated in the various activities created in celebration of the 30th Foundation Anniversary of the institution. As early as six in the morning, CSA Personnel grooved to the beat of the music during the Zumba Exercises. More activities followed with the parade of teams with muses and escorts, lighting of torch, oath of sportsmanship, and unveiling of team banners. The audigymnasium was filled more with enjoyment with the presentation of each team’s healthy muses & escorts. Afterwhich, the much anticipated Cheers & Yells Competition followed. Next comes the teams competing in various parlor games which included Luksong Lubid, Patintero, and Blind Earth Ball Volley as well as ball games like basketball and volleyball.

 

During the announcement and awarding of winners, individual awards for Biggest Loosers in their body weight were given to Mr. Cerilo B. Lanes, Ms. Zaida B. Cervantes and the top looser Mr. John Vincent K. Forteza.  Best Banner and Most Active awards were given to Gold Perpetua, Best in Attendance for Red Patricius, and Most Disciplined for Blue Navigius. Mr. Bernard G. Miranda and Ms. Imelda Tuquero were crowned Mr. and Ms. Agustinolympics respectively. For the parlor games, Green Monica won in almost all games except in Luksong Lubid wherein Red Patricius won. For basketball games, Gold Perpetua reigned in both male and female categories. Green Monica won for Volleyball (male category) and Red Patricius for Volleyball (female category). The Red team also won in the Biggest Looser team edition. For the overall ranking, Blue Navigius was the 3rd runner-up, Green Monica as the 2nd runner-up, Gold Perpetua as the 1st Runner-up and Red Patricius as the Overall Champion. Each one brought home special tokens, prizes and most importantly, joy, of being part of a united Augustinian community.

 
Augustinian Family Day for Personnel

August 23, 2014 marks a first in the history of the institution as it held the Augustinian Family Day for Personnel. With the theme “Pamilyang Agustino, Kaisa kay Kristo,” CSA-Biñan’s personnel brought with them members of their family to celebrate a day of fun, camaraderie and unity. Each family was grouped into one of the four competing teams: Red PATRICIUS, Gold PERPETUA, Green MONICA, and Blue NAVIGIUS.

The day started with a Eucharistic celebration with Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA as the main celebrant. This was followed by the Augustinian Family Summit with an inspirational talk from Rev. Fr. Enrico D. Gonzales, OP. Afterwards, selected personnel were asked to share to the entire community their insights in building a strong family.

In the afternoon, the participants were energized with Zumba Exercises. More laughter and fun filled the audigymnasium as lively games for different ages were played. These included Tinig mo, Gabay ko!, Bet on our Babies, Papa Goes to Market, Unity Walk, and Save our Balloon. A Grand Pabitin closed the day with a smile among the participants. For the winners, third runner-up went to Red PATRICIUS,  second runner up to Gold PERPETUA, first runner-up to Blue NAVIGIUS and the Green MONICA emerged as the overall CHAMPION. The Augustinian Family Day Committee was in charge of the activity which was headed by Dr. Angustia S. Segubre.
