CSA employs major renovations in facilities PDF Print E-mail

Major renovations were made throughout CSA–Biñan during the summer break in order to provide better services for the Augustinians this Academic Year 2013-2014.

The renovations were done in the different parts of the campus. These included the renovation of the main lobby, installation of new air conditioning units and higher floor terrain in the Cashier and Registrar’s area to avoid overflow of water.

Computer Laboratories in the Preschool, Grade School and High School Departments, as well as the Grade School Library, were also repainted and renovated. New offices were also constructed, such as the Augustinian Formation and Religious Affairs (AFRA), Research, Accreditation Office, and Digital Printing Office.

Augustinians who topped the Center for Educational Measurement (CEM) Inc. examination last Academic Year 2012-2013 were given recognition during the Departmental Assembly of the Junior High School Department held on July 12, 2013, at the Audi-gym. The said exam included four-fold areas, to wit: Mathematics, Science, English, and Reading.

“Write to express not to impress” These words were used by Rev. Fr. Wilson A. Capellan, O.S.A., to remind the staff of the school publications the do’s and don’ts in campus journalism during the seminar-workshop last July 4 in San Agustin Hall. Fr. Willie explained and showed the JAH staff the common errors of people when communicating with others by showing some videos about miscommunication due to wrong spelling, diction and terms. He also prepared English proficiency test to measure the knowledge of the staff in terms of correct usage of English when talking to someone and at the same time when writing an article. “Be heard and be understood Augustinians!” as Fr. Willie ended the said seminar-workshop.

“Prepare to be mesmerized”, warned by Mr. Michael Rodriguez, the master of ceremony of the first ever OPM singing contest held last Aug. 3 during the Inter – Public Schools Competitions for Excellence and Entertainment. The top 5 finalists, in no particular order, were the Pacita Complex Elem. School, Langkiwa Elem. School, Sta. Rosa Elem. School Central I, Lakas Elem. School and San Pedro Elem. School.

Bon Leif wins 2013 MTAP - DepEd Math Challenge PDF Print E-mail

Bon Leif, a sixth-grader of Colegio San Agustin-Binan, and also a feature writer of the GS Publication, brought home a hard-won 2nd place medal in the 2013 MTAP - DepEd Math Challenge at National Level. 21 public and 14 private schools competed in this contest which was held last April 13, at the Metrobank Plaza, Makati City. His coach is Mr. Melchor Minguito.
